Diogo Freire, filmaker behind Facing the Surge, and CCL volunteers are hosting an East Coast screening tour to raise awareness about the immediate impacts of sea level rise and inspire action among coastal communities.
Adaptation Now is a documentary project sharing the stories of the communities dealing with the leading edge of climate change. We will give a voice to coastal cities inundated by rising seas; homeowners waking up to flooded living rooms; fishermen coping with the change of fishing patterns; and people everywhere dealing with radical changes in weather patterns; and to the everyday climate heroes working to give us hope.
Join us on Sunday Oct 9th for CCL Queens/Nassau's screening followed by expert panel discussion including Q&A by the filmmaker. Light refreshments will be served.

That’s why this Fall, NY Renews will be holding a Long Island Town Hall to engage folks in their communities about the campaign and to hold our elected officials accountable to standing with the people and the planet, not the big polluters.
